A modified plan-form for your J-29 which reduces helm effort, legal in PHRF racing but does not conform to one-design class rules. Construction is the conventional vinyl-ester resin, vacuum bagged fiberglass, hand lay up over a true NACA shaped high density foam core. This modified plan-form reduces helmsman fatigue and can reduce rudder stall during rapid helm angle changes like tacking and docking.
You can re-use your existing hardware on your J/29 or choose a new set of rudder replacement gudgeons installed. We can supply you with a new laminated wood or Carbon fiber replacement tiller as well as a new set of tiller brackets, just like the original equipment. The compete assembly would be completely drilled and ready to install in minutes.
Your new rudder blade will come with a barrier coat finish, ready for bottom paint. If you'd like the blade in a gel coat finish, please choose this option from the drop down menu.
We also offer an epoxy resin lay-up option and Carbon fiber for
additional strength, resistance to water intrusion and will extend
warranty to 5 years for your J/29. Choose this option from the drop down menu.
